Dear Action users,
we are deprecating version 7.0.2 and 7.1.0 because their underlying Docker base-image (rsync-docker) is no longer maintained.
With version
v8(>=8.0.1) we have integrated that base-image into our action in order to reduce 3rd-party dependencies, and to provide faster security updates (from upstream Alpine) along with better support.
See release notes: https://github.com/Burnett01/rsync-deployments/releases/tag/v8
If you are using version 7.0.2 or 7.1.0, we urge you to upgrade to version
v8until June 1st, 2026 (!).See available release channels.
💡
v8is backward compatible to7.x.x! Hence an upgrade will not break your existing deployments. 👍Caution
After June 1st 2026, Version 7.0.2 and 7.1.0 will cease to function and their underlying base-image will cease to exist.
This will result in your deployments failing.❌
How do I upgrade to the latest version?
Simply use version
v8or see available release channels.I want to continue using these old versions:
We discourage you from using unmaintained code. If you still insist, create a copy of the base-image, eg:
You can then clone our action and direct the Dockerfile to point to your own copy of the old base-image.
As said, we discourage you from doing this because you will have to maintain dependencies and security updates yourself. There is no guarantee that everything works in the future.
Can you provide ESU (extended support) for these old versions?
Yes, if you/your team/your company needs more time to upgrade or cannot upgrade, we are willing to create an ESU release channel. However, sooner or later you will have to upgrade to version
v8, so it's best to do it asap.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
