Settings not being applied

Hi, I have an odd issue where folder settings are not applied to the OneDrive folders. I have an old backup from a while back (April 2024) and this always works, but if I reset folder views make a few changes apply them, it seems to apply the general folder settings to the OneDrive folders. Is there a manual way to delete all the customisations from the Registry?

There also seems to something odd with the backups as their size seems to vary vastly, when all I do is make the same changes.

By default, the OneDrive folder views should follow each major folder type template. That is, OneDrive Pictures should be the same view as Pictures and so on. You can set separate views for OneDrive folders by changing each of Documents OneDrive, General Items OneDrive, and so on. I don't use OneDrive, but I thought I'd take a look this morning to see if the views are working as expected. Unfortunately, for the moment, OneDrive is broken for my account. I'll try again this evening and hopefully get it working again.

The backups can vary a lot in size because the Bags registry key is tiny immediately after running WinSetView and then it grows rapidly as you open folders with Explorer.

P.S. let me know if you're using Desksoft WindowManager. it seems to cause some problems for WinSetView.

I got OneDrive reinstalled and ran some tests. Everything worked as expected. Whatever I view I set for the OneDrive folder types in WinSetView is what I got in Explorer. Is there any chance you checked "Make all folders Generic" in WinSetView? That would explain the General Items view.

It's the "Make all folder Generic" option, I do use Desksoft WindowManager, we have spoken about this before

Right. As per our discussion from 2022, the large size of the backup (even after having just run WinSetView) is due to Desksoft WindowManager restoring the Bags key. I haven't experimented with WindowManager, but if it touches the Bags key, it may override the defaults by WinSetView for some folders. If everything is working as expected, then no problem. But if you do see issues, be sure to disable WindowManager and try again.

The "Make all folders Generic" option applies to all folder types. Search results are also folder types. Therefor, they will have the same view as "General Items" when that option is enabled.
