These files are used for cross-walking between different levels of geography. Beginning with the 2020 Decennial Census, the Census bureau released 2020 vintage geographies to replace those from 2010 (i.e., blocks, block groups, tracts, and PUMAs). Soon afterward, APDE created 61 2020 vintage Heath Reporting Areas (HRAs) to replace the 48 2010 vintage HRAs. This means that many of our old spatial files are no longer useful and will eventually be retired.
All spatial files that use 2020 vintage data are explictly labeled with a '20' in the file name. If it has a '10' or is not labeled, you can assume it is referring to the 2010 vintage geographies. Please carefully examine the file names and contents to ensure that you are using the correct data!
The complete commit history for these files is visible in GitHub Bash and GitHub Desktop. Unfortunately, GitHub online does not display commits prior to renaming this folder. You can view a synopsis of this commit online. Individual commits can still be viewed online using the commit id from your log.
