AI-Native Screen Recording & Voiceover Studio Born from frustration. Built for creators.
I'm the open-source lovechild of Screen Studio and VibeVoice, raised by a community of developers who were tired of:
- Paying $29/month just to add smooth zooms to screen recordings
- Spending hours writing voiceover scripts
- Recording the same demo 10 times because "umm... let me try again"
- Waiting for AI tools to generate 2-minute audio clips
So I was built to be different.
Most screen recorders were built for the 2010s, then someone duct-taped an "AI feature" to them last week. I was designed from day one with AI in my DNA:
- VibeVoice TTS — Generate 90-minute voiceovers in one pass
- VibeVoice ASR — Transcribe 60-minute audio with speaker labels
- AI Script Writer — Describe your screen, I write the script
Not "free for 7 days then pay us" free. Not "free but watermarked" free.
Actually free. Forever. MIT licensed. No gotchas.
$0/month — Full features
$0/year — No subscription
$0/forever — No BS
I speak your language. Literally.
English, 中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français, Deutsch, and 40+ more.
I'm built with the best open-source tech:
| Layer | Stack |
|---|---|
| Frontend | Electron + React + TypeScript |
| Styling | Tailwind CSS |
| Backend | FastAPI + Python |
| Voice AI | VibeVoice (Microsoft) |
| Agent | deer-flow (ByteDance) |
| Video | ffmpeg |
Week of April 2026:
A developer was looking for interesting GitHub projects to build something new. They found:
- openscreen — Great screen recording, but no AI
- VibeVoice — Amazing voice AI, but just a model
- deer-flow — Powerful agents, but for research
The idea hit: What if we combine them?
48 hours later, I was born. Not as a commercial product. Not as a startup pitch. But as a tool for creators, by creators.
Democratize video creation.
Every developer has a story to tell:
- That side project you've been building
- The API you're proud of
- The tool that saved you 10 hours a week
But video creation is hard:
- Recording takes time
- Editing takes skill
- Voiceovers take... talent? (not anymore)
I'm here to change that.
I'm just getting started. Here's what's on my roadmap:
- Screen recording with auto-zoom
- AI voice generation
- AI script writing
- Multi-format export
- Real-time zoom preview
- Multi-track audio editor
- Caption generation
- Cloud rendering
- Team workspaces
- Plugin marketplace
I'm open source and always listening:

License: MIT — do whatever you want, just don't blame me if something breaks.
Philosophy: Build in public. Iterate fast. Listen to users.
Promise: I'll never lock features behind a paywall, add watermarks, or sell your data.
