Hi there, we’re STEM-ED 👋 Building the AI Infrastructure for the Future of STEM Education
STEM-ED is an AI orchestrator and teaching companion designed for real classrooms—not generic chatbot workflows. We help teachers design, adapt, and deliver curriculum-aligned STEM learning, while supporting students with guided, context-aware AI assistance that stays consistent across an entire unit.
Teachers and students are already using AI, but most tools aren’t built around curriculum, pedagogy, or classroom realities. LLMs also struggle with long-running, multi-step instructional plans and can drift when a unit spans multiple lessons, objectives, and learner needs. STEM-ED its working to add structure, context, and accountability so that AI stays aligned from planning to assessment.
An AI-as-a-Service platform combined with an LMS foundation, purpose-built for STEM teaching and learning workflows.
- AI orchestration: that maintains pedagogical context across multi-lesson units so support stays consistent from Lesson 1 to assessment.
- Curriculum alignment: which ensures outputs are tied to clear objectives, standards, and measurable outcomes.
- Teacher-in-the-loop: as validators teachers review, edit, and approve AI-generated materials before classroom use.
- Domain-specific models: the orchestration of AI agents that best fit the educational content, pedagogical requirements with contextual awareness.
- Student companion: Guided, curriculum-aligned support with practice, feedback, and responsible learning boundaries.
Built with enterprise-grade expectations for security, performance, and interoperability.
- AI stack: Fine-tuned transformers + RAG + curriculum-vectorized knowledge base.
- Integrations: REST APIs + LTI 1.3; designed to work with major LMS ecosystems and classroom workflows.
- Privacy & security: Student data is not used for model training; built with FERPA/GDPR compliance in mind.
- Scale: Distributed architecture designed to support classrooms through districts with high availability goals.
- Alpha (current): Teacher-controlled lesson planning, structured content generation, and review/approval workflows.
- Beta: Student-facing AI support with guided reasoning and classroom-appropriate boundaries.
- V1: Full “classroom orchestrator” that uses learning signals to improve the next instructional cycle.
STEM-ED is working with early users to build the next generation of AI-powered learning tools grounded in pedagogy—not hype.
Interested in collaborating on:
- Orchestration for long-running educational workflows (units, constraints, continuity).
- RAG systems with curriculum-aligned retrieval and “plan persistence.”
- Interoperability (LTI 1.3, APIs) and school-friendly data flows.
