Opportunity for full package review

I see lots of changes happening here including removal/simplification of functions, etc, partly because of the review for the manuscript. I wonder if this would be a good opportunity for a full package review. This would allow us to comment on every file and consider the codebase from a broader perspective.

yes definitely agree. I think we have an issue for this (ah yes #373). Would you be keen to do one as well as @Bisaloo?

@jamesmbaazam thanks! Well I don't think we're going to release it next week, so if you still want to do it I think that would be fine. If you feel you have too much on your plate at the moment and the foreseeable future that's of course fine as well. Just let me know.
