Hi,
I have been working on this topic for a while and came up with a new Composable called JsonTreeDiff which shows a side-by-side diff of two JSON strings. The new Composable is more limited than JsonTree. It only supports syntax highlighting so far. Collapsing items or showing additional infos doesn't make much sense in a diff view in my opinion.
Inline diffs (highlighting what changed inside a line) can also be enabled, but I found that the result is not very good for JSON data. It seems like the underlying MyersDiff algorithm (from a third party library) can't handle that type of data very well, so it is disabled for now.

I built it into Flocon to test it. The idea is to have a "Compare with clipboard" button on network responses, which opens a new window and shows the diff between the current response and the JSON in the clipboard. Let me know what you think about this. If you want to have this in Flocon, then I can open a PR.

Hi, that's really nice. Thanks for making it happen. I'm just not sure about the Compare with clipboard, we may need like a "pin json", and then we you open a json you can compare it with the pinned json. And maybe an option, "Compare with previous" where it compare the current json of the request selected with the previous request that match the same request. Not sure if I'm clear.

Anyway I still think that can be really good add for the Flocon.

I get your proposal, but I am not sure how I would build the UX for this in Flocon. "Pin json" sounds very similar to copying to clipboard and compare, but maybe I am misunderstanding the idea. For the "Compare with previous" feature, the challenge is probably to define what makes two requests match each other. Maybe the url path, but not the query parameters since they might change, but still return a similar json response?
Anyway you probably know better how it should look like. I will publish a new JsonTree release soon and then one of us can integrate it.

I published a snapshot, if you want to try it.
It needs the maven central snapshot repository maven { url = uri("https://central.sonatype.com/repository/maven-snapshots/") }.
The version is 2.7.0-SNAPSHOT.
