Performance Issues Deleting Files

I am new to OpenCloud and have assimilated a large set of files into the documented docker-compose setup. Using it I noticed some things that are particularly slow. For example deleting a file takes about 10 seconds. During that time opencloud is completely utilizing multiple CPUs. Looking into what is happening using strace I noticed a lot of communication going on to the nats service. It is just myself the single user clicking delete on the web UI. I ran tcpdump to look into what is happing on port 9233 and it recorded more than 300 MiB traffic for deleting a single file. I wonder if this is working as intended. I would guess it is not and any help to find the cause is appreciated.
