Background and motivation

The world faces massive problems from a changing climate and a growing polycrisis. Our role is to create Open reusable TRUTHful knowledge by TRUSTable processes.

We use TRUSTable processes to find and use TRUTHful sources to make useful Climate knowledge.

We imagine what Ranganathan would have said and done in the era of LLMs and generative AI.

1. Books are for use.

Knowledge must be findable and usable, not hidden by accident or design

2. Every person his or her book.

EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE must be able to find the knowledge they want. Farmers, City planners, teenage activists, retirees, island dwellers, etc.

Current knowledge creation and dissemination is grossly inequitable

3.Every book its reader.

(In a polycrisis) Knowledge without users is an unacceptable luxury.

4. Save the time of the reader.

The current publisher-academic system of knowledge dissemination and use is vastly inefficient and inequitable, E01 shows how it can and should be done.

5. A library is a growing organism.

It's essential that knowledge is created, disseminated and reused in a world community that honours equity, transparency, reusability
