Can't command factories to work

Trying to make the children make me some uniforms, rags, strings and green shirts. Click on the item and the options are either the box ticked off or on with a full rectangle. But when I switch the laptop off or change the website, it doesn't save.

Iirc, for some of your steps, .i.e. uniforms, it's reqired to first do the factory update

to produce some items it can be nescessary to first have raw-materials in sector, i.e. no uniforms without required material in sector
