Gnome on Wayland crashes

I can use the system up to a few hours at a time. The longest was ~8 hours. The shortest was ~30 minutes.

Below is the journal of up to 10 minutes ago. 00:58:07 is the time it crashed. This time it crashed when I clicked on the Activities menu on Gnome. The action before the crash isn't consistent.

When it crashes, the system shows me the log in screen. I can log back in but the work I was doing is gone.

I can confirm on my macbook air. Started out using wayland back in March. No issues for a few months. Then began crashing more and more frequently. From the logs gnome-shell is dumping core, wireplumber/pipewire seem to be implicated from the stack trace. My system is heavily customized so it may be a separate issue, and is why I didnt open a case myself. Xorg has been rock solid

I switched to Xorg and all the crashes went away. Hmm, either some apps are causing the crashes or Wayland itself need at least some work to work well with Asahi Linux.

Have you considered updating your system? The latest asahi kernel is 5.19rc7.asahi2-1

Doesn't seem like a kernel issue.
