finetune_net.bin don't speak~

I use finetune_net.bin to retrain a net ,however these is not any debug information;and the program is runing; "finetune_net.bin img_solver.prototxt caffe_reference_imagenet_model";How chould this be?

Delete ::google::InitGoogleLogging(argv[0]); in finetune_net.cpp seems ok.

Use GLOG_logtostderr=1. Please take a look at examples/imagenet/train_imagenet.sh

I'm definitely in favor of GLOG_logtostderr=1 being default. (Technically output is produced without it though, LOG(ERROR)s and LOG(FATAL)s will print, but not LOG(INFO)..not sure about LOG(WARNING). But yeah, all of the tools appear to do nothing if they run successfully and you don't have GLOG_logtostderr set.)

Yeah, GLOG_logtostderr=1 should be default :) With gflags, you can actually append --logtostderr instead of pre-pend the GLOG thing, but this requires one to install gflags first and then compile glog with gflags - with the most recent gflags namespace change, this is kind of non-trivial though.

To add on @jeffdonahue's comment: glog writes the log messages to files so they are more easily readable (e.g. when you are running things on a cluster without keeping an active session):

Unless otherwise specified, glog writes to the filename
"/tmp/...log...."
(e.g., "/tmp/hello_world.example.com.hamaji.log.INFO.20080709-222411.10474").
By default, glog copies the log messages of severity level ERROR or FATAL to standard
error (stderr) in addition to log files."
