sending a message to a chan from GUI is voodoo magic

When we add a chan, it is listed in "Your identities"
So when I want to send a message to a chan, I go to the Send tab, select From "mychan", To...click Load From Address Book, but the chan is not there!

It really requires non-trivial knowledge to figure out that the chan address must be copied and pasted into the To field.

I suggest that the chan should be added to the Address Book as well.
And when the user chooses a chan in the From list, the To field must be automatically populated with the chan name.

I think we should do one or the other: either add it to the address book or auto populate the To field. I think adding it to the address book would be better since it is logical that it would be there.

replying to a message that was sent from an individual address to a chan is also almost impossible, since the address cannot be copied from the inbox.
In E-Mail you have "reply" and "reply all" buttons for this. Probably want to include something similar for bitmessage, because if somebody writes from his personal address he is usually expecting answers to him and not to everyone.

Since mailchuck@cf38385 you can choose to reply to chan or sender if replying in a chan.
