NHL Scoreboard randomly flips quickly

Describe the bug
At random times the scoreboard will rapidly show a score, and immediately flip to the next one in under a second, ignoring the delay timer

To Reproduce
Run the scoreboard

Expected behavior
15sec delay as set

Hardware - Pi4b
This is a fresh install with NHL scoreboard as the only active plugin

Additional context
Log attached - see rapid skips at 22:25:54 and 22:27:24

I believe I have tracked down when it is happening, as I noticed the same again today. However, instead of just flipping to another game it was also flipping quickly to a blank screen at some points.

Attached is another log snippet, and this all seems to be occurring when switching modes. That switch is ignoring any delay and just flipping to the new mode and cutting short the last game of the previous mode.

18:40:41.999 - it displays UTA vs VGK
18:40:42.029 - switches mode to nhl_upcoming
18:40.42.031 - it displays NJ vs WSH

18:40:57.061 - it displays COL vs CHI
18:40:57.119 - switches mode to nhl_live
18:40:57.131 - display blanks out as there are no live games
