1. Perform compare (think needs to be synchronous so can reload compraré window)
2. Asynchronously, populate BEX view data
3. Synchronously, load BEX view

I'm not sure if this will help, but can try.

Another idea is to have the BEX view rendered lazily, since I think that Eclipse freezes due to loading the view with lots of records. So, it may help to not try to load all the data. I think I recall Eclipse having a TreeView which is lazily loaded.

Sounds like these are called Virtual TreeViewers

Specify SWT.VIRTUAL and use ILazyContentProvider rather than ITreeContentProvider / IStructuredContentProvider
