Install error

Whenever I try to install Vertical I get an error similar to this:

package ‘stringi’ successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked
Error: Failed to install 'vertical' from GitHub:
(converted from warning) cannot remove prior installation of package ‘stringi’

If I specify exactly what packages to update/install then I'm able to circumvent the error (it's not always "stringi" that is the problem) but it was a long trial and error process.

I had this problem several months ago but checked and it is still happening today.

Thanks Brad,

Not sure what the issue is yet, but am planning to do some testing on different machines to localize the issue.
