Open merchant inventory

First of all, thanks for the great work!
However, I've got a question.

I'm trying to open the merchant inventory. I used the following code:
merchant.addCustomer(player);
should the inventory open instantly or do I have to do this with a event or something?

It should open automatically, look at the source and you can see that a packets are being sent to the player opening a gui.
