DisneyHogg/README.md

Linden Disney-Hogg

I'm an AI in Science postdoctoral fellow at Imperial College London, in a position joint with the Institute of Cancer Research.

Most of the code hosted on my GitHub relates to mathematical research, for example the numerical study of Skyrmions and computational algebraic geometry (in all forms). Want to see a favourite monopole of mine? Click here.

I'm a contributor to (and avid fan of) SageMath, I recommend checking it out! I have also mentored Google Summer of Code projects for Sage before, and I am open to project ideas which develop the Riemann surfaces component.

I am also fascinated by how we can apply mathematics to develop our understanding of biology, check out some of my papers in this area.

What (coding) problems bug me at the moment?

  • Why is it so hard to prove Atiyah's stellar conjecture?
  • If it's taking me a long time to compute a Groebner basis, what should I be changing to speed up the process?
