Instead of leaving this for manual QA after all the processing has run, the channel separation module should do some QA on the fly to check whether separation is doomed to fail.
The module should retry using means instead of standard deviation if this is the case. If neither separate well, either fail out or use channel order assuming no dropped frames and try to figure which channel is which post-hoc.
