Code Review

This pull request, automatically generated by Snyk, aims to resolve a security vulnerability in the ajv package by upgrading eslint from version 8 to 10. While addressing the vulnerability is important, this major version upgrade introduces critical issues.

  1. Breaking Change & Incompatibility: ESLint v10 includes significant breaking changes. The current versions of @typescript-eslint/parser and @typescript-eslint/eslint-plugin (^7.15.0) are not compatible with ESLint v10, which will cause the lint script to fail.
  2. Incomplete Update: The change was only applied to the lua-sqlite template. The lua template (create-ao-dapp/templates/apps/lua/package.json) still uses the old, vulnerable version of eslint, leading to an inconsistent state across the project templates.

A recommended approach to resolve the security vulnerability without introducing breaking changes is to use npm's overrides feature in package.json to force the ajv package to a secure version. This would fix the vulnerability across the entire project without requiring a major, breaking upgrade of ESLint and its ecosystem.

critical

This upgrade to ESLint v10 is a major breaking change that will break your linting process because the TypeScript ESLint plugins in this project (@typescript-eslint/eslint-plugin and @typescript-eslint/parser) are not compatible with this new version.

Please revert this change. To fix the underlying security vulnerability (SNYK-JS-AJV-15274295) without breaking your setup, you should use npm overrides.

Add the following to your package.json files:

"overrides": {
  "ajv": "^8.17.1"
}

This will force the transitive dependency ajv to a secure version. Remember to also apply this fix to other templates like create-ao-dapp/templates/apps/lua/package.json for consistency.
