Almost not working on Visual Studio 2026

Hi, I have been using this extension for years, but since i switched to Visual Studio 2026 about a month ago, I noticed that it is not working most of the time, when using the "Spell check current project" menu item, it shows some results, but still, the example in the screenshot is not highlighted

I am using Visual Studio 18.1.1. December 2025 Feature Update

That's normal and it's always worked that way. Spell check active document and solution/project do not spell check API members, only strings and comments etc. In the editor, an editor extension handles those and for solution/project it spellchecks similar items uses regular expressions to parse the files. Neither can handle languages though as there are just too many variations to try and handle them all. The code analyzer handles API members but currently only for C#.

If it's not spellchecking API members, check the General settings to make sure you've got the code analyzer option enabled. Check the global configuration and any local solution/project settings if you have them. Public and protected API member spell checking is enabled by default as long as the code analyzer is enabled in the General settings. You'll find private/internal member spell checking options in the Code Analyzer settings.
