How to create a Mode Analytics workspace connected to a PostgreSQL database hosted on Heroku.

This is a step by step tutorial to get started with Mode Analytics.

1 Prerequisites

• Account at Heroku (https://www.heroku.com/)
• Account at Mode Analytics (https://modeanalytics.com/)

2 Set up an Heroku app with PostgreSQL

2.1 Create a new app

2.2 Enter app name / region and click on create

2.3 Navigate to Configure Add-ons and click on it

2.4 Click Find more add-ons

2.5 Select Heroku Postgres

2.6 Notice the Plans & Pricing section at the left and press Install Heroku Postgres

2.7 Select your app

2.8 Click on Provision add-on

2.9 Select the add-on

2.10 Navigate to Settings and click View Credentials...

3 Set up a workspace on Mode Analytics

3.1 Connect to a Database

3.2 Create a Mode Studio workspace

3.3 Enter a name an create the workspace

3.4 Select PostgreSQL

4 Connect the Database

4.1 Match the fields as shown in the screen shot and click on Connect

4.2 That's it, have fun :)
