WebTransport is the new kid on the block set to solve a lot of the problems WebRTC has.

It's a big ask, but I think it's the future for pixel streaming

I haven't done much of a read of the explainer document, but I would be interested to see how the extensible nature of PixelStreaming2 plays with adding something of this scale.

You should be able to create a new plugin (eg PixelStreaming2WebTransport) and implement it in a similar manner to the PixelStreaming2RTC module (obviously with a lot of simplifications to start).

Maybe something I can play with on the weekends.
