Action Performed:

1. Navigate to staging.new.expensify.com
2. Go to workspace chat
3. Create an expense.
4. Go to Reports > Expenses tab
5. Select the expense via checkbox.
6. Click dropdown menu >> Split option
7. Refresh the page
8. Observe Not here page appears briefly in Split RHP

Expected Result:

Not here page should not appear in Split RHP when refreshing Reports >> Expenses page

Actual Result:

Not here page appears briefly in Split RHP when refreshing Reports >> Expenses page

Not here page appears briefly in Split RHP when refreshing Reports >> Expenses page

What is the root cause of that problem?

When the page refreshed, draftTransaction was undefined while loading from Onyx. The code checked isEmptyObject(draftTransaction) immediately, which evaluated to true during loading, causing the "Not here" page to flash.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

We should add an early return to show a loading indicator while data is loading, preventing the "Not here" page from flashing.

@mountiny this issue can be reproduce in the production. And the root cause doesn't related. So i think it's not a regression from my PR.
