Action Performed:

Precondition: Have Expensify Cards enabled in a workspace

1. Go to Reports > and then select any filter under the Accounting tab, so Unapproved cash or Reconciliation, etc.
2. Set filters so some reports appear.
3. Hover over and click the checkbox next to any of the rows.
4. Click on the row to expand it
5. Click the checkbox next to the expanded row
6. Collapse the row
7. Click the checkbox next to the collapsed row

Expected Result:

The user should be able to select the checkbox next to any row.

Actual Result:

Staging behavior : Unable to select the check box after expanding the report as well
Production behavior : The checkbox can't be selected before the row has been expanded. It can be selected after expanding the row, and can still be selected after collapsing the row.

PR #76175 refactored the WithdrawalIDListItemHeader component and broke checkbox interactions for withdrawal ID (settlement) groups. The checkbox is now inside a pressable wrapper that captures all click events to toggle expand/collapse, preventing the checkbox from being selected.

Labels: Keeping DeployBlockerCash (App deploy blocked). This is a frontend bug requiring App PR revert/fix.

Evidence

• Issue is reproducible on staging only, not production
• PR [CFI] Add group-by columns #76175 was merged Dec 18, 2025 - after the last production deploy
• PR [CFI] Add group-by columns #76175 modified src/components/SelectionListWithSections/Search/WithdrawalIDListItemHeader.tsx
• The bug specifically affects withdrawal ID settlement rows, which is exactly what this component renders

Verification

Affected file: src/components/SelectionListWithSections/Search/WithdrawalIDListItemHeader.tsx

Confirmed that PR #76175 modifies this file. The PR refactored the layout to add group-by columns and changed how the expand/collapse interaction works.

Root Cause

In TransactionGroupListItem.tsx (lines 341-359), the entire row is wrapped in a PressableWithFeedback component:

    ...

When a user clicks the checkbox inside WithdrawalIDListItemHeader, the click event bubbles up to this parent pressable, triggering onPress which calls handleToggle() to expand/collapse the row instead of selecting the checkbox.

Why production behaves differently: Before PR #76175, the expand/collapse arrow had its own separate PressableWithFeedback wrapper. After PR #76175, the interaction was refactored but the event handling broke, making checkboxes unselectable in all states (collapsed and expanded).

The issue description confirms:

• Production: Checkbox works after expanding (old behavior, partial issue)
• Staging: Checkbox never works (new behavior after [CFI] Add group-by columns #76175, complete breakage)
