It adheres to proper capitalization guidelines (note: only the first word of header/labels should be capitalized), and is approved by marketing by adding the Waiting for Copy label for a copy review on the original GH to get the correct copy.
  • I verified proper file naming conventions were followed for any new files or renamed files. All non-platform specific files are named after what they export and are not named "index.js". All platform-specific files are named for the platform the code supports as outlined in the README.
  • I verified the JSDocs style guidelines (in STYLE.md) were followed
• If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers
• I followed the guidelines as stated in the Review Guidelines
• I tested other components that can be impacted by my changes (i.e. if the PR modifies a shared library or component like Avatar, I verified the components using Avatar are working as expected)
• I verified all code is DRY (the PR doesn't include any logic written more than once, with the exception of tests)

  • All JSX used for rendering exists in the render method
  • The component has the minimum amount of code necessary for its purpose, and it is broken down into smaller components in order to separate concerns and functions
• If any new file was added I verified that:
  • The file has a description of what it does and/or why is needed at the top of the file if the code is not self explanatory
• If a new CSS style is added I verified that:
  • A similar style doesn't already exist
  • The style can't be created with an existing StyleUtils function (i.e. StyleUtils.getBackgroundAndBorderStyle(themeColors.componentBG))
• If the PR modifies code that runs when editing or sending messages, I tested and verified there is no unexpected behavior for all supported markdown - URLs, single line code, code blocks, quotes, headings, bold, strikethrough, and italic.
• If the PR modifies a generic component, I tested and verified that those changes do not break usages of that component in the rest of the App (i.e. if a shared library or component like Avatar is modified, I verified that Avatar is working as expected in all cases)

@arosiclair I'm not sure what I did wrong here. Coming from this SO, I followed this process:

Step 3: Add the image(s) to the article
Head to the Help Site Repository

Head to docs / assets / images to copy the image file name

Click articles

Click Expensify Classic or New Expensify (depending on whether the resource you're adding an image to is related to OldDot or NewDot)

Click the title (file name) of the resource

Click the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner to edit the article

Use the following markdown text in your article, replacing image-name with the name of your uploaded image:

I'm under the impression that {{site.url}} will call help.expensify.com, which will complete the URL path to the image. I've uploaded my images to the /assets/images folder, and have copy/pasted the correct file names. Am I missing something obvious?

Oh wait! I think I know the reason. The images I've uploaded haven't been deployed yet (they are in this PR). I think this PR will need to be deployed first in order for the images to not be broken in the preview.

Looks like the images are supposed to be merged in a separate PR first. Can you remove the article changes and just leave the images for this PR? We can make another PR for the articles next.

@arosiclair Sure! I can do that. I'm not exactly sure how to do that though. I assume it's something like:

1. Park changes to the .md files on their own branch (johnSchusterSageHelpTextUpdates)
2. Remove the changes to the .md file in this branch (johnSchusterSageHelpImages), leaving just the images to be uploaded
3. Merge this branch
4. Merge main into johnSchusterSageHelpTextUpdates
5. Merge johnSchusterSageHelpTextUpdates

Is that right?

If so, can you help me with steps 1 and 2? I'm having trouble figuring out how to place the .md file changes on a new branch and remove them from this one. Also, please tell me if I'm overcomplicating it!

I just went ahead and reverted the article changes. Normally you can just edit the files and undo your changes (just copy over the original file). And then later you can just create another PR and redo the article changes.

I'm not sure how to revert commits in the UI, but I assume you can just edit the file like you did originally (just edit the file and change it back). If not, you could just close the PR and create a new one.
