  • I verified proper file naming conventions were followed for any new files or renamed files. All non-platform specific files are named after what they export and are not named "index.js". All platform-specific files are named for the platform the code supports as outlined in the README.
  • I verified the JSDocs style guidelines (in STYLE.md) were followed
• If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers
• I followed the guidelines as stated in the Review Guidelines
• I tested other components that can be impacted by my changes (i.e. if the PR modifies a shared library or component like Avatar, I verified the components using Avatar are working as expected)

Hey @mateuuszzzzz, yeah I do believe so. I was able to verify the issue was resolved after the revert. Agree there isn't any obvious cause though 😕

Regardless, lets move forward here. When ready I can rerun the previous issue on this new PR 👍

@Julesssss just to clarify, was this PR actually the root cause of the camera issues? I’m not seeing anything in my changes that could have caused the problem, so I wanted to confirm 😅

@mateuuszzzzz I looked into this a bit deeper and I recall now that this was a confusing case where your changes probably did not cause the bug. The crash was not always reproducable and consisted of two seperate issues:

• App crashing when returning from background -- I traced this back to much older releases
• Camera toggling on/off on background -- created an issue for this specific case

Sorry about that! Let's move forward.
