data visualization of project-level activity #32

@pdurbin

Description

@pdurbin

@erikbuunk @TaniaSchlatter @djbrooke and I just met to talk about a new data visualization.

The goal of the effort is to see how one more more visualizations might answer these questions:

  • What are people doing? Who is doing what?
  • What datasets are being added now to Harvard Dataverse? Across all installations? From where?
  • What dataverses are being published in Harvard Dataverse now? Across all installations? From where?
  • Are people joining Dataverse now? Where are they from? (number of new accounts being added – Harvard Dataverse)

Implementation/use:

  • Project in hall?
  • Who are we trying to engage? Ourselves first?

As a starting point plan to look at the 2018 data from https://demo.dataverse.org/dataset.xhtml?persistentId=doi:10.70122/FK2/U5DCAW (SQL scripts at IQSS/dataverse-sample-data#8 (comment) ). Here's a screenshot of a few of the rows. The unlabeled columns are "name" and "parent name".
