This is because we discussed a redesign of how these should work and will involve modifications to the data design.

Ok. Fixed. When you select multiple Subjects, they should appear as facets as of this commit:

251248e iterate through controlled vocabulary values at index time #3706

at Social Science and Humanities block > add multi Topic Classification and Vocabulary collapses the block when clicking on the + and doesn't add a new field.

You are correct the block closes, but if you reopen it, I see two topic classifications. We will fix the former, but van you verify that you see the latter (or if you don't see a 2nd topic classification)?

I opened another ticket for the block closing after clicking on the + for multi value field "topic classification". A second entry for the field is created and saved.

Issue is resolved but this area is still in the workings.
