As Liz and I discussed, she's going to work on this ticket for now, creating Google Spreadsheets that represent realistic test data from the main domains we want to support in Dataverse 4.0:

  • Social Science
  • Astro
  • Biomedical

We'll export the Google Spreadsheets as TSV files, convert them to JSON, and use the JSON to create a hierarchy of dataverses via API calls.

Once we have API calls for creating datasets, but for now Liz and Eleni will enter this manually following datasets in this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/a/harvard.edu/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvqMYwdHFZghdHNzQmhvb1Q4NzMyc1FlblRUdlJiS0E&usp=sharing

The TSV files (and probably the JSON) will get committed to the git repo. We can write integration tests using this data.

We can draw inspiration from Eleni's diagram (below) at http://thedata.org/blog/major-dataverse-release-coming-spring-2014
