revert PR#8454 about citation field improvements

Per standup this morning, we'd like to get the develop branch back to a release-ready state by reverting #8454 about citation field improvements.

Reverting should fix the following issue:

• Dataset Migration API: Cannot migrate a dataset using example json-ld file, complains about Contact E-mail being null though it is specified. (testSemanticMetadataAPIs) #8533
