Description
Now that we have support.dataverse.harvard.edu and http://dataversecommunity.global/ we need to edit content on dataverse.org so that it does not contain Harvard Dataverse information.
Who is likely to use the site?
- someone at an educational institution evaluating the software who might want to run an installation
- government agencies who might be evaluating data repositories - researcher looking for a place to put their data (direct to Harvard, or another open installation)
- journal editor who wants to have data along with articles
What questions should the site answer?
- what resources (human and other) will I need to run an installation?
- can I deposit to a Dataverse installation?
- how active is the community?
- who is using Dataverse?
- governance details
Content questions
-
Should we work with or change this model? Platform, Community, Collection of Data accessible to researchers
-
Note that the guides strive to be general, which means that there is no dedicated source for Harvard Dataverse user guide info.
For review:
- what does DSpace do? What is their frame for the product site?
- what does Fedora do? (Sub of DSpace)
- what does ckan do?
