Refactor the remaining old code implementing client-side harvesting #9327
Description
This is a child issue of
There's lots of old, not very pretty and not easily maintainable code in that subsystem. A prime candidate for refactoring. Would include improvements to the harvesting client UI/dashboard as part of this task.
