Hi,

I updated my InvoiceShelf to the new docker version.

I can't get it to run. All I get in the logs is:

Not sure what is going on. Some help would be great.

Are you using bind mounts? I just stumbled upon InvoiceShelf and tried to setup a testing instance yesterday and nothing worked. Fiddled around for hours and got it running at least.
I am using bind mounts 99% of the time.
First problem was the container complaining about missing folders, had to create a whole bunch myself.
Another problem was a typo in 00-setup.sh where it tries to copy a stub database file from a location that doesn't exist (/var/wwwp/... instead of /var/www/...) if there is no existing database.
So I took the stub database file and mounted it to the (wrong) location so that the script could run.
And another problem were permissions. Inside the container the user www-data has uid:gid 82:82. After a chown 82:82 on the InvoiceShelf data on the host it started and I was able to start the setup wizard. The wizard complained about the directory permissions, they need to be set to 775.

Now my only problem is I can't use it with my Nginx reverse proxy. I just see a blank page, access via ip is working.

I am using bind mounts. They have been working no issues until this update. I tried moving to a volume and was getting the same error.

I tried setting up a new instance to see what permissions and owner were assigned to the db and got the same error you did that it couldn't find the stub db.

Even tried going back to the legacy version, just gent entrypoint.sh errors.

Hey @pinionking -

Can you start brand new instance with the new docker-compose.yml files as they are and then just copy your existing storage folder into the invoiceshelf_storage volume? Having them as proper volume instead of just local directory mounted should help resolve the permission issue.

Please also pull the latest nightly image that fixes the issue that @kinslayer1982 pointed.

docker compose down
docker compose pull
docker compose up --force-recreate --build -d
docker image prune

To find the volume path you can do:

docker volume ls
docker volume inspect {folder_name_of_compose_file}_invoiceshelf_storage

On Linux the docker volumes are usually located in /var/lib/docker/volumes/.

Ha, @gdarko was 2 minutes faster than me. I'll add this for reference though.

The path to the stub database file has already been fixed.

From my testing I had to mount these volumes:

• /var/docker_data/invoiceshelf/storage:/var/www/html/storage
• /var/docker_data/invoiceshelf/bootstrap/cache:/var/www/html/bootstrap/cache

Inside storage I had to create framework folder. Inside framework I created cache, sessions and views folder.
Inside storage/app I created templates folder. And inside templates I created pdf folder.
chown 82:82 on everything and chmod 775 everything.
