This issue tracks the evaluation of newly generated AMSR3 CRTM SpcCoeff and TauCoeff files produced by NOAA STAR. The goal is to verify their scientific and technical consistency within the JEDI-UFO framework.
Tasks:
- Integrate AMSR3 SpcCoeff/TauCoeff into CRTM coefficient directory and verify version metadata
- Run Tier-2 JEDI/UFO observation operator tests using the AMSR3 configuration
- Compare simulated brightness temperatures (TBs) against reference datasets and operational AMSR2 performance
- Check channel mapping, polarization alignment, and instrument geometry consistency
- Document mean/sd TB differences by channel and surface type
- Summarize results and recommend acceptance or further tuning of coefficients
