migrating coordinator from Conbee 2 to Conbee 3

Hello,
With the release of Conbee III and the hability tu support more devices directly, some people (like me) will be migrate from the older conbee II to the newest conbee III

It will be interesting if exist some procedure to migrate and not need to re-pair all the devices (more than 100, will be a big issue).

Someone have the conbee 3?

Summery; Migration from one ConBee/RaspBee adapter to another is currently not possible inside Zigbee2MQTT. For that to be possible Zigbee2MQTT would first need to add support for deconz adapter backup and restore features, as the deconz adapter code in the zigbee-herdsman library which Zigbee2MQTT depends on does not yet support Zigbee network backup and restore from ConBee/RaspBee Zigbee Coordinator adapters, as such you can not simply backup your old ConBee II adapter to a file from inside Zigbee2MQTT and then just restore such backups from file to your new ConBee III adapter (as you can with Texas Instruments based z-stack adapter in Z2M because that already supports the backup and restore feature inside the zigbee-herdsman library).

Hopefully, the deconz adapter developers will priotiríze this feature in zigbee-herdsman now that new ConBee III adapter being available(?).

PS: Note that before creating a backup for migration you will always first need to upgrade the firmware on your old ConBee/RaspBee adapter before doing a backup! (That is however not needed if backing up an old Silicon Labs or Texas Instruments based Zigbee Coordinator). It is generally also recommended to upgrade the firmware on the new ConBee/RaspBee adapter before migrating to it.

I try this morning with my conbee2 for testing and got a error when i push "save button" in configuration tab

If Zigbee2MQTT is used in a Docker container then you might need to install and configure Docker-Compose, see example here (that probably needs to be adapted) -> https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha#docker-compose

Suggest that you intsead of here post to that thread inte Home Assistant community forum is having problems with that add-on.

You of course also need to change both the serial port as well as the baud rate speed in Zigbee2MQTT configuration file.

Believe ConBee II uses 57600 baudrate + hardware flow control and the new ConBee III uses 115200 baudrate and no flow control.

I don't know what this app requires, but I successfully set 115200 for Conbee2 in HA ( via core.config_entries file ). I even set 921600 just for fun, and it also worked. I confirmed the speeds are active:

I suspect something similar applies to the 3 model.

Hey All,

I that I will upgrade my ZigBee network with a new conbee 3 stick.
First i updated all firmware and more
But unfortunately after upgrade to a conbee 3 I’m losing constantly my sensor or lights.
Also I'm using Z2M in home assistant

Any have the same thing.
For now i see it's not my money worthy

i read in other forums (i dont remember where) that the conbee 3 firmware is not fine, and causes some problems because not all hacks are implemented in the firmware yet

Hello Again.
Im here again because i try today to migrate my coordinator for conbee2 to a conbee3.
I bought the conbee3 some weeks ago (when i open this post) but today i try to migrate.
This was the steeps i followed:

• create a backup of the conbee 2 with the "tubesZB Zigpy-CLI tools" addon in home assistant (with zigbee2mqtt stoped).
• The file is correct and not errors
• I create a backup of the conbee 3 with the same procedure.
• I create a new file with the core data of the conbee3 (name, firmware, etc...), and ussing the other parameters of the conbee2 backup (network key, tc_address, coordinator_ieee, pan_id, and some others)
• i restore the new file to the conbee3
• i modify the configuration.yaml of zigbee2mqtt with the new port and new baudrate.

The zigbee2mqtt start. but a lot of errors apears, and not connect with the devices.

Maybe i make some wrong or maybe i dont understand the procedure.
Can someone explain the procedure?
