Summary of Changes

Hello @elvism-lullabot, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request updates the BinaryInstallerPlugin to use a specific, newer version of the task binary. The primary intent, as indicated by the PR title, is to incorporate 'failfast functionality' which is present in this custom binary. This involves changing the download sources and updating the associated checksums and version metadata.

Highlights

  • Binary Update: Updated the download URLs for the task binary across all supported platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows) and architectures (amd64, arm, 386, arm64). The new URLs point to a custom release v3.44.0-no-cancel from the elvism-lullabot/task GitHub repository, replacing the previous v3.38.0 release from the official go-task/task repository.
  • Checksum Updates: All SHA256 checksums for the task binary releases have been updated to match the new v3.44.0-no-cancel binaries.
  • Version Bump: The internal version string for the task binary within the plugin configuration has been updated from 3.38.0 to 3.44.0-no-cancel.

Thanks for starting this. We probably want to be sure tests pass upstream before merging this!

@elvism-lullabot Please provide some testing instructions so someone will be able to test this locally.

  1. How to test Failing using current stable release of Drainpipe.
  2. How to test using the changes here and when a test fails it failsfast.

Tested this PR, and reviewed the changes from go-task/task#2307. Everything is working as described, and code changes make sense to me.

@elvism-lullabot let's set failfast default to true so it matches current functionality, in hopes that this is a non-breaking change which they review and merge in faster.... as mentioned in the latest comment. go-task/task#2307 (comment)

The checks for Test Binary Installer are failing due to the Taskfile version change, from 3.38 to 3.44.0-failfast-default-true. Please, update the reference in this file to fix it. Thanks!
