Application does not quit during logoff

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Logoff/restart/shutdown windows
2. Windows asks to force-quit the application

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Application should close during logoff.  Windows instead asks to force-quit.  
Only way to avoid this is to close the application myself.  

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.0.1.  Windows 7

I couldn't reproduce the problem on a Windows Vista machine.

1. When Windows asks you to force quit, decline, then try to interact with the 
program like generate a new feed. Is the program responsive?
2. How do you run the program?

1.  it is not responsive
2.  I run the program via a startup shortcut to start.bat
