For some reason, the following bots do not work on Linux with Mono (Debian Stable: 2.10.8.1) :

• AntiAFK
• ScriptScheduler

Is this a known issue? Are there any work-arounds?

The startup script does not initiate and the AntiAFK does not properly submit it's commands as necessitated.

Is there a debug log I can look towards?

I also note I am running an older version of Mono in the Stable Debian Repository. I'll be trying again with a newer version of Mono.

Hello,

Mono/Linux compatibility is pretty new and bugs may subsist.
A new version is currently under development (Indev branch) and the bugs might be fixed there.
Anyway, mono has a debug mode that can be used like this:

mono --trace=E:all theprogram.exe

Maybe running in debug mode will show useful information for fixing the issues.

I'm afraid Debug mode did not warrant any useful information but I did notice some fixes.

AntiAFK does work, but it doesn't work in the same manner as on Windows. A value of 10 results in an AFK message being displayed every 10 seconds rather than every 1 second on Windows.

TaskScheduler is a bit buggy. Running a command on startup does occur, but after 2 minutes on average.

Logger Bot is working fine.

However, the pressing issue I've been noticing is that the bot times out every 30 minutes without any apparent reason. After initiating the bot, it will disconnect without warning, with no attempts to reconnect with the AutoRelog bot.

Will investigate as soon as possible. Seems like the main loop is running slower than intended on mono (should be 10 ticks per second).

TaskScheduler and Startup Script work well under Mono 3.2.1 (tested on FreeBSD). However, seems like i'm silently disconnected after idling a while, need more investigation to understand why.

I think that keep-alive packets might not be properly processed while using Mono on a server where there are no mobs movments or other data sent frequently by the server because of a small cache in network handling with Mono that may retain these packets. This is due to a workaround used to have MCC working despite Mono's missing features. The right way of fixing this issue would be implementing CFB-8 encryption mode by hand in MCC for use with Mono, or, a workaround way could be ensuring that the server sends more data to force the keep-alive packet not to be retained in the cache.

Since both Mono and MCC were improved since then, the mono-related issues should hopefully be fixed by now. Closing, but feel free to reopen in case of issues involving both latest development builds and recent versions of Mono ;)
