Middle click open note/folder in new tab

Hello - in the Spaces/file explorer pane, would it be possible to add the ability to open a note (or folder) in a new tab using middle click? This functionality exists in the default file explorer and is very convenient, but seems to be missing in Spaces (nothing happens with middle click). Thanks!

I didn't know this until I looked at the code, but FYI you can also open files in a new tab from the spaces file tree view by left-clicking while holding down Ctrl or ⌘.
