Grunt Task compass:dev failed

Following the Quick Start guide and cloning the repository then running npm and bower install I am not sure what updates to make to the Package.json file in order to get the project to build. I did not make any changes and when I run "grunt" I receive an error that the compass:dev failed.

I ran a git status and there are no changes that have been made so I am not sure what I am missing.

Not sure on that specific error but there was one bug reported that I just haven't gotten around to fixing yet;
inside your bower.json file change the angular depend from latest to something prior to 1.2.

Its my fault on those I should have specified a version rather than to use the latest.
