Either download from the cache:

nix-store -r /nix/store/sz6grwd4dmckds6nhsv55zjvr2xp2w9w-exegol-5.1.8 \
  --option binary-caches 'https://cache.nixos.org/ https://nixpkgs-update-cache.nix-community.org/' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '
  nixpkgs-update-cache.nix-community.org-1:U8d6wiQecHUPJFSqHN9GSSmNkmdiFW7GW7WNAnHW0SM=
  cache.nixos.org-1:6NCHdD59X431o0gWypbMrAURkbJ16ZPMQFGspcDShjY=
  '

(The nixpkgs-update cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)
For the cached download to work, your user must be in the trusted-users list or you can use sudo since root is effectively trusted.

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A exegol https://github.com/r-ryantm/nixpkgs/archive/2f923e5f17c6a2afe4fda5159ad1ef8d0adb567b.tar.gz

Or:

nix build github:r-ryantm/nixpkgs/2f923e5f17c6a2afe4fda5159ad1ef8d0adb567b#exegol

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/sz6grwd4dmckds6nhsv55zjvr2xp2w9w-exegol-5.1.8
ls -la /nix/store/sz6grwd4dmckds6nhsv55zjvr2xp2w9w-exegol-5.1.8/bin

Pre-merge build results

We have automatically built all packages that will get rebuilt due to
this change.

This gives evidence on whether the upgrade will break dependent packages.
Note sometimes packages show up as failed to build independent of the
change, simply because they are already broken on the target branch.

nixpkgs-review result

The package built by this PR is not functional at the moment:

$ exegol version
Mandatory dependencies are missing: No module named 'supabase_auth'
Please install them with: python3 -m pip install --upgrade -r requirements.txt

This comes from an upstream refactor of the Supabase Python ecosystem: parts of what used to be provided under the old layout are now split into separate distributions/modules. In particular, Exegol now expects the supabase-auth distribution (import name: supabase_auth) and also relies on the Supabase Functions client (import name: supabase_functions).

Nixpkgs is missing supabase-auth on the target branch, which makes exegol version fail with ModuleNotFoundError: supabase_auth. PR #476518 adds python3Packages.supabase-auth (import name supabase_auth) and should resolve this missing dependency once available.

For the Functions dependency: while nixpkgs already provides python3Packages.supafunc (and supabase-functions may currently be wired as an alias to it), upstream has deprecated supafunc in favor of the supabase-functions distribution with import name supabase_functions. PR #476532 adds python3Packages.supabase-functions (import name supabase_functions) to match upstream naming and avoid import failures for consumers expecting supabase_functions.
