"latest" symlinks on github.io do not work

I'm stumped. It works on my local build. There's every indication that this solution is something that Github Pages supports out of the box. There are multiple examples including the JSON Schema Github Pages site that show that it should work.

Is there a plugin or something being used that might be interfere with with this feature?

These URIs now resolve:

https://spec.openapis.org/oas/3.1/schema-base/latest
https://spec.openapis.org/oas/3.1/schema/latest

but these do not:

https://spec.openapis.org/oas/3.1/dialect/base/latest
https://spec.openapis.org/oas/3.1/meta/base/latest

I didn't add latest URIs for the dialect and vocabulary schemas. They aren't versioned in the same way as the main schemas. We don't version meta-schemas in JSON Schema, so I didn't include that here either. They haven't had any need to change so far. I figured we'd address that if a need to change them comes up.

Maybe we treat it like meta-schemas in JSON Schema where we only change if there is a serious bug and we don't change identifiers. Maybe we introduce a versioning strategy similar to the main schemas. It'll have to be discussed and trade-offs weighed.
