This isn't something that is easily explained and takes days of training in the very best case (worst case, years of practice), if you have no idea how to build your custom Linux kernel, I would suggest not tackling this. Look into a custom rom and working from there.

this is not the source for the OS, only the hardware so porting this to mediatek wouldn't do you any good.
