Ports NebulaSS13/Nebula#3536 and NebulaSS13/Nebula#3577
Why and what will this PR improve
Fixes contamination issues, which are critical for Outreach. Porting now since we won't be on Neb-Dev for awhile. See PR bodies above for further details.
