Although codebook operations are performed prior to communication, the actual fusion is conducted at the BEV feature level, rather than at the codebook level. That is, the codebook does not include operations such as coordinate transformation or alignment, and its compression is entirely carried out locally. This raises the question of how such an approach contributes to the reduction of communication bandwidth.
