[Units] Is the 1/8" stainless steel rod equal to 0.3175 centimeters? #6

Hello. Thank you for your work and effort you put into this project! I would like to build the same prototype as you show in your youtube video. However as i check the BOM, i'm a bit confused about the 1/8" rod used to connect joints. As i live in europe, i just quickly put it into converter and the result is 0.3175 centimeters. But to be honest, that is really odd size and i doubt i would find it anywhere. Do you maybe have metric system caliper to see what is the exact width of the rod? |

Hello, thanks for the interest in the project! You are correct on the conversion; 1/8" = 0.125in = 3.175mm tube diameter. |

The extension tubes are secured in their 3D printed ends using set screws so the diameter can be a little smaller and they should still lock in place just fine. I believe 3mm diameter with ~0.5mm wall thickness tube is available at hobby shops throughout Europe. Brass and stainless tube will also work but be heavier. Metal or plastic solid rod stock may also be ok but will be even heavier and probably bend more than you want. Good luck!
