A bit of a kludge but it works. Better not to use such messy names in the first place... we should offer a name cleaning tool...
Second thing done in this commit is set
fixed = TRUEing(?:sub|repl?)whenever a pattern is not used, which is more efficient. Can file separately in a new PR if preferred, but I kept that as its own commit here.
