Summary

Add a data-driven Platform Selection Guide to the requesthunt skill, based on research across 220+ topics and 9 product categories (automotive, gaming, travel, food, health, real estate, social, creator economy, developer tools).

What's New in SKILL.md

Platform Selection Guide

  • Platform Strengths table: What each platform is best for, signal type, typical yield
  • Category recommendations: Primary and secondary platform picks for 11 product categories, with real data points (e.g. dashcams: 29 YouTube requests, Newsletters: 176 Reddit requests)
  • Quick selection rules: Simple heuristics for choosing platforms

Updated Research Workflow

  • Step 2 now shows category-aware scraping strategies (YouTube-first for consumer, Reddit-first for dev tools, LinkedIn-first for B2B)
  • Report template enhanced with Platform Signal Comparison table and Platform Strategy section

Key Research Findings Encoded

  • YouTube dominates consumer/hardware/lifestyle (70-100% of requests)
  • Reddit is irreplaceable for developer tools and creator economy
  • LinkedIn uniquely strong for healthcare and B2B
  • GitHub only useful for categories with open-source ecosystems
  • X provides supplementary signal across all categories
