Onboarding of guests (assign `guest` role by default)

We would like to onboard guest users (students from a course) to a specific channel only. In order to do that I am currently facing a bunch of hurdles in the following process:

• students register via rocket registration website -> working fine
• I manually activate them -> this is fine but
  Issue 1: now they are having the default user permission level for a short period which I do not want (related to issue 3 below)
• I go to permissions, remove that user from the users permission group and add them to the guest permission group.
  Issue 2: Manually removing users from one group and adding to another is cumbersome, a default guest role would be much easier
  Issue 3: I cannot re-assign permissions before the user is activated (related to issue 1 above)

We have regretfully disabled invites, as each self-registrated account retrieves the 'user' role, which is unwanted behaviour in a trusted environment.

For example, we have a number of default rooms for our (LDAP) employees, which should not be accessible by invitees, but to which the invitees/guests are nevertheless automatically added.
From our point of view, invitees should be limited to the channel they are invited in (a constraint which maps to the 'guest' role).

I guess the Invite feature needs an option akin to the [SAML_Custom_Default_default_user_role] to render this feature useful in a trusted environment.
